How to do it
- Squat down with knees driving out and chest up.
- Explode up through the whole foot — jump as tall as you can.
- Land softly, toes to heels, knees bending to absorb the impact.
- Sink straight into the next squat — landing is the start of the next rep.
- Keep your chest proud when you land; don’t fold forward.
Common mistakes
- Knees caving on the landing. Collapsing inward under landing forces is how jump work injures knees — track them over the toes.
- Chest collapsing forward. Folding at the hips on landing throws the load onto the lower back instead of the legs.
- Shallow prep squat. Skipping the dip means less power out of the bottom — depth is where the jump comes from.
